Who we are

About Gateway X.

Gateway X is home to a founder community, a venture studio, and a venture firm, all in one place in St. Louis. We start companies from scratch and back founders at the earliest stage, alongside people who've done it before.

Don't change the world, change your world.

What we expect

Our only asks.

The residency gives you what you make of it. In return, we ask for four things.

01

Commitment

A firm commitment to yourself: show up with integrity, hustle, and rigor to find your life's work. We're energized by people who do what they say and don't let anything get in their way.

02

Presence

Come into the office 4+ days a week, best effort. Not a hard rule; the point is to bring your energy and ambition to the space and help us build the best founder community in the Midwest.

03

Participation

Actively participate in the community. Help the other founders and folks in the space when they need it.

04

Partnership

Use us as thought partners for your business and your own growth. We want you to win.

Your partners

Put us to work

How to work with us.

The goal is simple: 1 + 1 = 3. You bring the vision and the reps; we bring pattern-matching, the network, and shortcuts, so you move faster than you could alone. Pull us in to workshop, strategize, or knock out a specific ask. What we won't do is run your business for you.

01

Actionable advice

Quick answers and tactical help to get unblocked, or to find the right thing to focus on.

02

Strategic guidance

A sounding board for the hard calls, with people who've made them.

03

Shortcuts

Our network, playbooks, templates, and intros that save you months.

Lead & sound-board

JesseNak

Leadership, culture, the tough calls, and a thinking partner when you need one.

Where we stay out. We meet with founders freely to workshop, strategize, or act on a request. Think of us as bridge builders helping you find your way out of the maze, not living the day to day with you in the maze. As a result, we generally stay out of your external customer calls and internal team/employee meetings - those are yours to run.

What to expect by stage

Exploring

We move at your pace, and we're open to you pushing us. We're here to help you find the right mountain to climb and hit your goals coming out of the residency: validating ideas, running test sprints, and intros to potential buyers, design partners, or cofounders.

Building

We get more hands-on and dive deeper into the areas of your business that need momentum - building pipeline, running sales meetings, creating a killer demo, recruiting, and more.

Closest free garage is Park Plaza Parking Garage, 46 Maryland Plaza. Ample free street parking past the Chess Museum. You can also buy a monthly pass from Argyle Garage, 225 Euclid Ave.
